SMART Recovery meetings aim to help people recover from addictions

Every Thursday, Malheur County Health Department will host SMART Recovery meetings in the Payette River Room at Four Rivers Cultural Center from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

SMART Recovery uses tools based on scientifically tested methods for addiction recovery, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior and Motivational Interviewing.

SMART Recovery support meetings are free and open to anyone seeking science-based, self-empowered addiction recovery. People who are suffering from addiction, as well as their family and friends, or people who want to help others in their community are welcome in the global community of mutual support groups. At meetings, participants help one another resolve problems with any addiction. Participants find and develop the power within themselves to change and lead fulfilling and balanced lives.

Programs are available in-person, online or via app through the SMART Recovery website at http://www.smartrecovery.org. For more information about Thursday’s sessions, call 541-889-7279. Share this flyer with friends, family and co-workers.
